ANJE describes President Luis Abinader’s accountability speech as correct and comprehensive

Santo Domingo.- The president of the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs (ANJE), Luis Manuel Pellerano, described the speech delivered by President Luis Abinader before the joint meeting of the legislative chambers as accurate and comprehensive.

“President Luis Abinader made a successful and comprehensive speech that addressed the main points of concern of the social sectors and proposed solutions to manage the crises that we face as a country. We are committed to continuing the open dialogue in an attempt to identify the best solutions for the well-being of the Dominican Republic in the face of the challenges we face. As indicated by the president, we are facing a great opportunity for all sectors to unite and work on building the country we want,” said the manager.

Similarly, the president of ANJE indicated that the recovery process that is impacting the tourism sectors, free zones, film industries and mining activity is encouraging. “It is worth applauding the recovery that these sectors are experiencing, being protagonists of the country’s economic growth and social development,” said Pellerano.

The Young Entrepreneurs considered it necessary and supported the discussion and consensus-building regarding the bills on Public Trusts, Public Procurement and Contracting, and the amendment to the hydrocarbons law, pieces whose debate is vital for transparency in business management governmental, the guarantee of the institutionality, the due processes in these means of purchase and the development of initiatives of the State.

Another important point of the speech was President Abinader’s reference to Professional Technical Training, as a catalyst for the development of employability skills in young people. They also considered that the issue absent from the president’s speech was the quality of spending on education, as it is vital for social, institutional and economic development. We have reiterated that: “We want efforts to be redoubled to improve the quality of spending on education, so that this translates into progress in local and international performance indicators and in quality learning for the sustainable development of the country” .

They valued the recognition of the fighting capacity, perseverance and search for constant transformation of Dominican youth, and at the same time reiterated the support of the young business community to continue contributing to the reform and transformation processes proposed by the government.
