The head of the Council of Ministers, Hannibal Torresreferred to a complaint published by the newspaper El Comercio about charges to informal combis that would have been made by agents of the National Police (PNP).
At a press conference last Wednesday, the prime minister indicated that criminal acts have been registered in different regions in said institution.
“We must speak frankly: we cannot keep hiding things. It must be understood that the Police have been largely surpassed by crime. You have to understand that there is a lot of corruption in the Police”, he declared.
In addition, he urged the different civil society organizations to help the Executive in the fight against citizen insecurity.
“It is necessary to order the neighborhood councils to help the Police and the Armed Forces to control citizen security”, he asserted.
Measures against citizen insecurity
At another time, Torres Vásquez explained the measure that the Ministry of the Interior seeks to implement to prohibit two people from moving on a linear motorcycle.
“In Lima they are seeing, these situations (thefts) occur every day. It will be the Ministry of the Interior in coordination with the Minister of Transport that determines when it will not be possible to drive a passenger on the motorcycle, only the driver will go”, he specified.
This project that is being prepared by the Government also intends not to allow citizens who use this light means of transport not to carry weapons.
