The President of the Council of Ministers, Hannibal Torresasserted that it is the people involved in acts of corruption who attack democracy and who seek to convert the current authorities into “corrupt”, and that these must be sanctioned without resorting to “fabricated evidence”
During the convention of elected mayors for the period 2023-2026, the prime minister also indicated that those who have committed crimes must be severely punished, but with objective evidence.
“The big corrupt now want to make the authorities corrupt, the drug traffickers, the White Necks are the ones who attack democracy in Peru. We agree to investigate and severely punish those who have committed a crime in the exercise of the function, now or yesterday. But with objective evidence, not fabricated evidence”, he exclaimed.

Next, Torres Vásquez assured that currently the justice administration system is “disqualified”, for which he considered that a reform should be made in the various institutions.
“The justice administration system is highly disqualified, not now, but for a long time and a profound reform is needed. In other words, the National Board of Justice, the Judiciary, the Public Ministry, the Judicial Academy and the Constitutional Court.”, he stated.
In this sense, the head of the ministerial cabinet again criticized the statements made by the prosecutor Marita Barretohead of the Special Team against the Corruption of Power, who said that the innocent must prove that they are innocent in a process, in reference to the investigations against President Pedro Castillo and his entourage.
“Innocence is not proven, innocence is presumed, here and anywhere in the world. Here those in charge of the administration of justice have inverted those roles that fundamentally attack people’s freedom. Who appointed those people as magistrates? The National Board of Justice”, maintained Aníbal Torres.
