The President of the Council of Ministers, Hannibal Torresassured that he is willing to resign “for the good of the country” if the cabinet crisis arises due to a refusal by Congress to the question of confidence that he raised this last Thursday, November 17.
During the closure of the Executive Muni in the San Martín region, the prime minister insisted on the explanations he gave before the Plenary Session of Parliament to repeal Law 31399 that restricts the use of the referendum on constitutional issues.
“We have raised that question of trust so that that law is repealed. If it is repealed, we begin to work, to restore peace in the country; if he does not repeal it, he denies confidence, the situation continues in the same, the status quo continues, the cabinet enters a crisis and has to resign and I am willing to do that for the good of my country, the people, the poorest ; I am ready for that and much more, I am not afraid of anyone at all”held
Aníbal Torres added that it is his power to make a decision on the question of trust, the first presented during the government of Pedro Castillo.
“It is their power but this in Peru has to end, it will not continue forever, Peru wants a representative democracy to truly exist in the country, that those represented exercise their function within the powers indicated by the Constitution itself,” manifested.
