The new minister is 40 years old and is an economist from the Pontificia Universidad Católica. She has an international diploma in Management of Public-Private Partnerships from Universidad del Pacífico and was part of an executive program in Public Finance Management at Harvard University. She is also an expert in investment and infrastructure management in the Transportation sector. She has been an advisor to the executive presidency of the Urban Transport Authority (ATU) since 2021 and works as a professor of Economics at PUCP.
Lazarte already has experience in the same Ministry of Transport and Communications, where she worked as an adviser to the Moqueguano vice minister Carlos Estremadoyro, between 2018 and 2020, during the government of Martin Vizcarra.
Likewise, she later held the position of general director of the Office of Articulation, Monitoring and Impact Evaluation of the TCMfrom August 2020 to February 2021.
In the Work sector
The person who was also sworn in yesterday was Eduardo Alonso García, as the new Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion. Replaces Alejandro Salas in office.
García Birimisa is a lawyer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP).
He has extensive experience in the public sector.where he served as advisor to the ministerial office of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE).
He was general director of Labor, regional director of Labor in Metropolitan Lima and head of the General Office of Legal Advice at the MTPE.
García Birimisa served as head of Labor Relations at PUCP and senior associate lawyer in the labor area at the “Benites, Vargas y Ugaz Abogados” law firm.

On the last Municipal Elections 2022, Paola Lazarte ran for the position of councilor of the Miraflores district for the Somos Perú party, in a group led by the candidate Ernesto Mendoza de la Puente. She thus appears in the registry of the National Elections Jury (JNE).
