Eletronuclear reported that the Angra 1 plant reduced power this Wednesday (2), at 10:08 am, due to the opening of the output circuit breakers for Eletrobras’ 500kV transmission lines.
The Angra 1 load was reduced from 642 MWe to 22 MWe to feed Angra 1’s auxiliary operations and security buses.
“It is important to highlight that the opening of the circuit breakers occurred due to problems in the transmission lines owned by Eletrobras. And, without being able to drain all the energy produced by Angra 1, there was an immediate and safe reduction in energy generation,” said the company.
The event had no consequences for the safety of the plant, the environment, workers and the population, informs Eletronuclear.
At 11:09 am, after the normalization of the transmission lines, the power increase at the Angra 1 plant began. This process takes an average of 24 hours to reach 100% load.
