Angélica Sosa's hearing for the BRT case will be this Tuesday: the Prosecutor's Office will request her arrest in Palmasola

Percy Fernandez and Angelica Sosa will be presented before a precautionary judge this Tuesday, March 15 at 11:00, for the process initiated by the Prosecutor’s Office for the execution of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. In addition to these two former authorities (mayor and interim mayor), there are eight other defendants who will also be at the precautionary hearing.

The hearing was supposed to take place last Wednesday, but Sosa’s defense attorney, Jerjes Justiniano Atalá, filed an incident of annulment to nullify the imputation against his client and the jurisdictional authority decided to suspend it and reschedule it.

The commission of prosecutors made up of Alexander Mendoza and Rose María Barrientos charged the 10 accused with crimes of breach of duties, uneconomic conduct, improper use of influence, criminal association, improper use of privileged information and contracts harmful to the State.

In the accusation presented to the Second Anticorruption Court, the Ministry requests preventive detention in the Palmasola prison, for 180 daysfor all those involved, with the exception of Percy, for whom they are requesting that he benefit from alternative measures to protect his state of health.

The alternative measures requested for Percy consist of house arrest is ordered, post bail of Bs 100,000, to appear before a judge every 30 days and to be prohibited from leaving the country.

The other defendants are: Lucy Mariel López Quiroga (former director of Transport and Highways), Rubén Darío Rivero Gallardo (former head of the Department of Public Transport Management of Procedures and Authorizations), Emilse Sengler Fernández (former head of the SEMURB Administrative Department), JJorge Humberto Ortiz Bruno (former head of the Department of Statistics and Planning of Urban Public Transport), Rolando Pedro Ribera Correa (former Municipal Secretary of Urban Mobility), Nancy Roca Martínez (Professional “A’ Lawyer), Jorge Luis Égüez Rivero (Professional “A” Lawyer) and Percy Rojas Limón, president of the company Chuturubí of lines 17 and 18, which was awarded the BTR concession contract.
