The former deputy and candidate for the Government of Santander, Ángela Hernández, died this Sunday at dawn, as confirmed by Jefferson Vega, her husband.
The former political leader was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019, was undergoing treatment and had recovered, when she enlisted her candidacy for Congress in 2021, she suffered a relapse.
He was diagnosed with metastasis in December.
Her husband and son helped her throughout the process, she was telling on her social networks her fight against the disease, the advances and also spoke of the importance of family support for cancer patients.

Hernández is recognized as a strong woman, “firm in her convictions” and was close to former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez.
Among his controversies, his support for former attorney Alejandro Órdoñez, his opinions on abortion and marriage between same-sex couples also earned him harsh criticism. She was a Christian and always, she quoted the bible and religion.
