The president Dina Boluarte did not participate during the entire session of the Council of Ministers on Wednesday, October 23. This was revealed by the Minister of Agriculture, Angel Manero, in an interview for Canal N. The head of Midagri explained that the head of state had to be absent from the meeting in the morning due to a family issue. However, in the official agenda of the Presidential Office it appeared that the president was present until 2 pm at the Government Palace, participating in the session for five hours.
“I have a doubt, the Premier said at the press conference: ‘In the morning when the president leaves the cabinet’… Do you mean that the president does not stay throughout the session?”, asked the host of the program “At the End of the Day”. To which Minister Manero replied: “Normally, he stays, but today is his late mother’s birthday and he went to the cemetery,” adding that Dina Boluarte He was present at the session but only for a few moments.
The head of Midagri tried to justify the president’s absence by highlighting that the session of the Council of Ministers was extensive. “(The president) He didn’t stay the entire sessionbut the Cabinet entered into an intermediate session until 5 in the afternoon waiting for the report on work absenteeism, which was important,” he said.
