Azua. the education minister, Angel Hernandezmet in this city with the directors of the Regional Directorates and the respective Educational Districts of the southern region, and urged them to focus on overcoming the needs and deficiencies of the educational centers, in order to achieve an effective learning process for the students. students.
Ángel Hernández exhorted the directors of the Regionals 01 of Barahona, 02 of San Juan de la Maguana, 03 of Azua, 04 of San Cristóbal and 18 of Bahoruco, and their respective Districts, to focus on the pedagogical processes that are developed in the classroom, understanding the classroom itself as any place where student learning occurs.
The minister called on the directors to focus on the concern for what is basic: learning in the first cycle, that is, that children who enter the educational system at the age of six have the opportunity to learn the skills of said cycle, since this weighs heavily later on in the other training cycles.
In this regard, he wondered what has been happening in the Dominican educational system, to which he observed that it is necessary to know why society decided to invest 4% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in education and what happens with said investment.
In that sense, he recalled that a good education impacts the entire life of the human being, such as their health and their social and economic mobility.

“That is why I draw attention to the bureaucracy of the system, and the bureaucracy of the system is you, and the directors of centers, we are us, that we are at the central level, that the money they pay me is not justified, and that they they pay you, if there is no concern for what is fundamental, which is the children’s learning; none of us make sense in the system if there is no awareness that the fundamental thing is that the classroom works well, and to work well we need to have good learning”, he expressed during the meeting held at the Gran Restaurante El Mesón Suizo.
Ángel Hernández advocated that all the officials of the Ministry of Education be focused on the classroom working well, that there is good learning, and in that order he said that the educational system must work, and that it is the duty of the officials to seek, analyze, and seek a solution to each situation, having an appropriate attitude, to improve the problems facing Dominican education.
Also present at the meeting was the Deputy Minister of Teaching and Pedagogical Affairs, Ligia Pérez, who subscribed to the idea that educational change is achieved in the classroom, and that is why we are focused on the classroom.
Pérez recalled that on occasions he told them, as a requirement, it was not possible for the teachers not to meet with their center directors, because they had to work with them, to align themselves with the work of the educational system, since only education can move the country forward.
At the meeting, each regional director and district directors presented the needs of their respective demarcations, such as teaching and administrative staff, infrastructure, teaching materials and transportation, among others.
