Anfavea projects a 5.6% increase in vehicle sales in 2025

According to the association, this year the sector had the greatest growth in the Brazilian market since 2007, with Brazil being the country with the greatest expansion among the ten main global markets. According to the association, there was the largest investment cycle in history in the automobile industry (R$ 180 billion); The second half of the year was the best in terms of sales in the last ten years. Furthermore, 100 thousand new jobs were created in 2024.

“Brazil was the one that grew the most among the main markets in the world. We hope to start the year at this accelerated pace and make 2025 the last step before returning to the level of 3 million units sold”, said the entity’s president, Márcio de Lima Leite.

After a slow start to the year, the sector’s momentum was in the second half. In November alone, average sales were 13,300 units/day, the highest in ten years. The year should close with 2.65 million vehicles registered, an increase of 15% compared to 2023.

In the heavy vehicle segment, the highlight was the sale of trucks, whose increase is estimated at 15%. In the case of buses, sales are expected to close the year with growth of 8.5%.

Anfavea’s projection for next year is 2.802 million units sold, around 5.6% more compared to 2024. In the large segment division, the expectation is for an increase of 5.8% for automobiles and commercial vehicles light ones, and 2.1% for heavy ones.

Exports

If in the first half of the year, exports disappointed the industry, the reaction came in the second, starting in July. There was a recovery in shipments to Argentina, with a growth of 39%, and to Uruguay, with an increase of 14%. Anfavea’s projection for 2025 is that sales abroad will reach 428 thousand units, something around 6.2% more compared to this year.

Jobs

With regard to jobs, the estimate is that 10 thousand direct vacancies will be created. In the total production chain, job creation reached 100 thousand positions. “In total, our sector is responsible for 1.3 million high-skilled jobs, and we hope that the current announced investment cycle of R$130 billion will open up even more jobs not only on the assembly line, but also in something strategic for the country, which is research and development”, highlighted the president of Anfavea.
