ANEP salary increase will allow to settle historical inequities

The National Administration of Public Education (ANEP) set a 9.22% increase in the remuneration of all its officials as of January 1, 2023*. This percentage was possible thanks to the completion of pre-agreements and salary agreements between this body and its union associations for the period 2022-2025, establishing that the destination of the resources would be agreed between the parties.

Likewise, by article No. 373 of Law No. 20,075, resources were allocated in Personal Services, one of the destinations being the increase in salaries of directors, deputy directors and inspectors of the agency.

In addition, by article No. 460 of Law No. 20,075, an item of $286,000,000 was assigned as of 2023 with the objective of minimizing salary inequities.

On the other hand, the ANEP and its union associations signed a complementary agreement in December 2022, through which the destination of the assigned items that will apply as of January 1, 2023 was defined, according to the following detail:

– 3.28% increase in the remuneration of directors, deputy directors and inspectors, in addition to what is established by the Executive Power.

– Increase of 3.5% for the teaching unit compensated for full-time teachers from the General Directorate of Initial and Primary Education (DGEIP), and 40-hour agricultural teachers from the General Directorate of Technical Professional Education (DGETP). ).

– Increase by one hour in the remuneration of 24-hour positions, and by an hour and a half that of 33-hour weekly monthly positions for seconded teachers, assistant trainers and POP coordinators of the General Directorate of Secondary Education (DGES) and of the DGETP.

– Increase of 3.5% for the percentage of the compensated teaching unit that applies to the positions of special education teachers of 30 hours in grades 6 and 7, for the only teachers of poorly located rural schools of 40 hours in all grades, and for grades 6 and 7 of poorly located rural school teachers of 25 hours.

– Salary increase of 0.8% according to the agreement signed between ANEP and its trade associations on October 24, 2022.
