The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) announced on Friday (26) that the red flag level 1 will be effective in October. That means that the Electricity accounts will be additional R $ 4.46 for every 100 kilowatt hours (kWh) consumed.
THE Nova Bandeira means a reduction compared to the months of August and September, when the Red Flag level 2 was triggered.
According to Aneel, the measure was adopted because of the low volume of rainfall, affecting the level of reservoirs for power generation in hydroelectric plants.
“Given this scenario, there is a need to drive thermoelectric plants, which are more expensive and justify the activation of the red flag level 1 to October,” says the agency.
The electricity regulatory agency also reported “that the solar generation source is intermittent and does not inject energy for the system all day.”
“For this reason, it is necessary to activate the thermoelectric plants to ensure power generation when there is no sunlight, even on end time,” he added.
Tariff flag
Created in 2015 by Aneel, the tariff flag system reflects the variable costs of electricity generation. Divided into color, the flags indicate how much it is costing to the National Interconnected System (SIN) generate the energy used in homes, commercial establishments and industries.
When the electricity bill is calculated by the green flag, there is no increase. When the red or yellow flags are applied, the account is increased by every 100 kilowatt hours (kWh) consumed.
