Aneel approves technical proposal for the sale of Amazonas Energia to J&F

Power transmission is 100% normalized in Acre and Rondônia

The board of directors of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approved this Tuesday (1st) the transfer of corporate control of Amazonas Energia to Âmbar Energia, part of the J&F group. Amazonas Energia is responsible for distributing electricity to more than 1 million consumer units in the 62 municipalities of Amazonas. Aneel approves technical proposal for the sale of Amazonas Energia to J&F

The decision grants flexibility to the company’s obligations in the order of R$8 billion and establishes a capital contribution of R$10 billion. Âmbar requested flexibility in court of R$15.8 billion to complete the purchase.

If it accepts Aneel’s decision, the company must sign a term waiving ongoing legal action over the sale.

“The decision belongs to the company, it is not up to the Agency. We have difficulty in converging decisions, but at this moment what society needs to know is that we have an administrative decision, which we didn’t have before. Whether the company will accept it or not is the company’s decision”, explained Aneel’s general director, Sandoval Feitosa.

Today’s approval had a favorable vote from Feitosa, who last Friday (27) had rejected the proposal. He explained that the extraordinary meeting was held due to a court decision, therefore, “it is natural that not all impressions and analyzes were exhausted”.
