Aneel approves tariff review that reduces tariffs for 10 distributors

The National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) approved, this Tuesday (12), the Extraordinary Tariff Revisions (RTEs) of ten distributors that have already gone through the tariff process in 2022, leading to a reduction in the rates that had already been approved. The new tariffs come into effect from tomorrow (13).Aneel approves tariff review that reduces tariffs for 10 distributors

According to ANEEL, the revisions took place as a result of the application of Law No. 14,385/2022, to consider the return of amounts arising from final and unappealable lawsuits that established the exclusion of ICMS from the PIS/Cofins calculation base charged to the energy bill.

Considering today’s decision and the returns that have already occurred in the 2022 processes, the medium effect on current tariffs to be perceived by residential consumers varies from 0.5% to 5.34% reduction, depending on the distributor.

The agency informed that the deliberations of the tariff processes of the distributors Energisa Mato Grosso do Sul (EMS), Energisa Mato Grosso (EMT), whose credits have not yet been authorized by the federal revenue, in addition to Equatorial Alagoas and Light, were postponed, because of court injunctions.

Regarding the tariff processes of distributors that have not yet taken place in 2022, Aneel’s collegiate will calculate the impact of the return at the time of the readjustment and review of each company.
