Madrid Spain.- Andy García Lorenzo, a 11J protester sentenced to four years in prison, was arrested again this Monday, just five days after being released from prison with change of measure to forced labor.
“They just stopped my brother Andy García in the middle of the highway. We do not know what his legal situation is at the moment, ”the activist Roxana García Lorenzo denounced through Facebook.
According to information shared on social networks by other activists and friends, the 24-year-old was arrested along with his father when he was about to go to court.
García Lorenzo, who was imprisoned for almost a year for his participation in the popular demonstrations of July 11, 2021, was taken by the State Security repressors to the 5th Police Unit in Santa Clara.
“Andy García Lorenzo, political prisoner of 11J sentenced to four years and released with change of measure to forced labor was informed today that tomorrow he would have to enter the camp. On his return from the Court he was arbitrarily detained by State Security”, accurate the activist Saily González.

The arrest occurs the same day that the trial against the artivists Luis Manuel Otero and Maykel Osorbo takes place; for which the regime has deployed a strong police operation.
Andy García Lorenzo: They even threatened me with execution
After his release last Wednesday, García Lorenzo explained to CubaNet the violence to which he was subjected during his 10 months in prison. Just as he denounced the manipulation of his trial.
“Witnesses who, although they had never seen you in their lives, turned around and even knew your full name. And of course, they were all Security agents. Note that no one from the town, those supposedly affected by the protest, went to testify against us. They were all government agents. It was all disrespectful,” he stated.
Regarding the threats by the regime, he denounced that he was threatened with 20 or 30 years in prison, life imprisonment and even that they were going to shoot him in case there was a humanitarian intervention in Cuba.
Despite everything he suffered in prison, Andy García Lorenzo referred to 11J as the proudest day of his life, and “of all Cubans, the happiest day in history, the day the people rose up against the oppressor”.
