“It is necessary, it is urgent to allow and make new airlines. It seems that Boa does not have enough capacity to sustain air transport because many delays and technical problems (on flights) are being generated, ”said the head of the Senate.
He added that from the Upper House is being seen, before having greater problems and “misfortunes”, the possibility of “fast and urgent” viabilize The incorporation of other airlines that have the ability to supply national air transport.
A few days ago, an aircraft of the Bolivian state had to abort minutes before takeoff at Jorge Wilstermann airport in Cochabamba, after suffering an incident.
The 144 people on board, 137 passengers and seven crew, had to be evacuated, due to a failure in one of their engines, as a preventive measure to guarantee security.

For his part, his colleague in the Senate, Centa Rek, sent a letter to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), denouncing that Air Safety supposedly would violate and human rights of citizens in Bolivia.
“We demand that ICAO perform an independent audit, without the intervention of the Bolivian government, to expose structural failures in the administration of the airline and its impact on the safety of passengers,” said the Senator of Cremos.
He added that Boa has been converted into a de facto monopoly with the endorsement and protection of the government of Luis Arce, violating the Political Constitution of the State (CPE) by preventing free competition in the sector.
“It is demanded that an operational security audit be carried out under the Universal Audit Program for the Surveillance of Operational Safety (USEAP), with special emphasis on the supervision of the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics (DGAC) and its ability to control Boa’s operations, ”says the opposition parliamentarian’s note.
