Andrés Velásquez shows action plan for the recovery of the country

The presidential candidate and leader of La Causa R, Andrés Velásquez, said that it is necessary for the opposition to rebuild unity. He considered that people’s lack of empathy has grown due to the diatribes that have been generated within the leadership itself.

Andrés Velásquez, presidential candidate and leader of La Causa R (CSF), asserted that in view of the 2024 presidential elections it is necessary for the opposition to rebuild unity, especially since the people do not have faith in the political leadership. He proposed a plan for the reconstruction of the country centered on three axes: economic, political and through the claim of citizens in their human condition.

From the College of Engineers of Ciudad Guayana, in Bolívar state, the place where the act “Andrés speaks to the country” was held, the political leader He explained that his proposal is transversal and in favor of the citizenry. Regarding the economic axis, he explained that one of the first measures that would be taken would be the return of all the expropriated and confiscated companies to their owners and structure a producer economic model that replaces rent-seeking.

He planted that with the oil “royalty” a social pension fund be created, which guarantees care in different areas and levels of the elderly. He also raised the idea of strengthening the agricultural sector to guarantee production based on food security strategies.

Andrés Velásquez said that it is necessary to stop “the largest ecocide that is committed south of the Orinoco with the mining arc, to promote the industrial, tourist and technological sector and to manage to convert the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) into an independent autonomous entity than capable of implementing a real policy against infaltion.

On the other hand, regarding the dignity of people, he mentioned that the social value of work must be restored, labor rights restored and full respect for collective bargaining and agreements with the International Labor Organization (ILO). He added that it is essential to eliminate the Onapre instructions and to rescue union democracy.

Rescuing Unity, asks Velásquez

The LCR leader assured that it is necessary to rebuild the unit because the population mistrusts and believes little in the leadership and the parties. He considered that the lack of empathy from the people has been due to the diatribes that have been generated within the opposition itself.

“Some factors of the Unitary Platform took positions that generated doubts in the population. Faced with this scenario, it is necessary to speak clearly to Venezuelans,” he said. He asserted that there were decisions that were made unilaterally. Dictatorships cannot be normalized. They are wrong if they think that sleeping with Maduro is going to displace him,” he said.

Despite the above, Andrés Velásquez stressed that “there is still a lot of understanding among citizens to build new opposition benchmarks.” He mentioned that throughout these two decades people have learned who is who and can distinguish alternatives “beyond the arrogant and those who feel they are the owners and drivers of everything.”

For the politician it is necessary to insist on pushing the construction of new alternatives. He stressed that the changes will come from the hand of the people but, he added, for them there must be a firm, coherent and committed political leadership. He reiterated his support for holding the primaries, although he expressed his rejection of the idea that the National Electoral Council (CNE) provide technical support.

humiliation after humiliation

The presidential candidate insisted that the administrations, first of former President Hugo Chávez and then of Nicolás Maduro, “stripped the people of everything.” He reiterated that Venezuela is a country without milk and without rights, because what “exists is humiliation, inhumane treatment, contempt for citizens and violations of human rights.”

He emphasized that the bubble that Maduro wanted to sell that Venezuela was fixing itself “burst in his face” and that the days of protest that have taken place in recent days led by health sector workers bare the reality of the nation.

«Who can think that in a country, where the minimum wage is $6.33 a month and the basket is $480 and our pensioners die of hunger, where eight out of ten children under the age of five have damage to their cognitive development due to malnutrition, can you think that Venezuela is fixed? “he wondered.

Velásquez challenged Maduro to go out into the streets every day and see how people survive, who now buy bags of milk, oil, coffee, and sugar.

“The crisis that the country is experiencing is reflected in poverty, hunger, unemployment, which are the face of a Venezuela that the regime tries to make invisible, making up it with luxurious shops that do not generate any progress for the country and where they hardly have a place. 5% of the population and plugged in, which in no way changes the reality of the 70% of extreme poverty that Venezuela lives in,” he added.
