Santo Domingo.- Andres Navarromember of the Political Committee of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), declared this Wednesday that, after the defeat in the 2020 elections, said political organization today manages to exhibit more strength, unification and renewal.
Navarro, during his participation in the Weekly Lunch of the Corripio Communications Group, specified that upon leaving power, the PLD focused on an internal review in order to strengthen ties again with the Dominican population and thus return in 2024.
“What we are exhibiting today is a PLD not only stronger, but a more unified PLD, a PLD that ratifies its vocation with the democratic processes of the Dominican Republic… we are committed to a party more closely linked to social causes,” said the former Minister of Education.
In that sense, Charles Mariotti, general secretary of the purple party, assured that the PLD will come to power again without revenge or reprisals, since that political organization is focused on growing, not on distractions or entertainment.
“The PLD is going to come to power without the spirit of revenge or retaliation, now, we must bet on systemic strength, on strengthening the parties, instead of putting up barriers so that they at least give us the opportunity to improve and change,” he argued. in the meeting

Mariotti acknowledged that corruption had a strong weight in the defeat of 2022 but clarified that it was not the only element, citing the suspension of the elections in February of the same year, which catalogs an open conspiracy against the party’s victory in the majority of municipalities nationwide.
