Andrés ‘Manga’ Escobar is going through a legal mess in Icelandic territory.
The Colombian soccer player who arrived at Leiknir in Reykjavík in March 2021, was sentenced by a court in that European country to 30 months in prison for the crime of sexual abuse.
As reported by the local media mbl, Escobar would have carnally accessed a woman in his residence on September 19.
Faced with this accusation, the 30-year-old forward from Cauca acknowledges having had intimate relations with the woman but denies that it was not with her consent.

The footballer will remain in prison until September 1 of this year, while his legal situation is resolved.
Escobar has a past in Colombia playing for teams such as Deportivo Cali, Atlético Nacional, Cúcuta Deportivo, Deportes Tolima and Millonarios.
