He Judge Juan Carlos Checkley suspended the hearing request for preventive detention against Andres Hurtadoprosecutor Elizabeth Peralta and Augusto Javier Miu Lei until next Monday the 30th at 9:00 am, at the request of the defense of those involved in the investigation for alleged influence peddling and passive bribery. Consequently, the television host, better known as Chibolinwill continue to be detained preliminarily.
Initially, the request for 18 months of preventive detention presented by the Prosecutor’s Office was going to be resolved this September 27, however, the lawyers of those investigated alleged that they had been notified of the requirement with very little notice and, therefore, they have not had enough time to review the tax document.
Upon hearing this, Checkley decided to extend the deadline. “I perfectly understand that the defense must prepare an appropriate strategy according to the interests of its client. All the information about the case will be sent to you. I am rescheduling the hearing for Monday, September 30 at 9 in the morning,” he indicated.
