Andrea Vidal Case: Salhuana will be summoned to testify to the Inspectorate upon his return from China

The trip to China will not prevent him from being summoned to give his statement. The president of the Oversight Commission, Juan Burgos, pointed out to Peru21 that the head of Congress, Eduardo Salhuana, and his predecessor in that position, Alejandro Soto, will be summoned to testify between the 15th and 16th of this month in the Andrea Vidal case.

On the travel list is his chief of staff and an area chief, both members of his party, APP.

Burgos pointed out that the initial date of Salhuana and Soto’s summons has been rescheduled – although they had not been notified – due to the trip to China that the former will make between the 5th and 10th of this month.

On the other hand, the woman who reported rape against the main person involved in the case of alleged prostitution ring in the Legislature, the former head of the Legal Advisory Office, Jorge Luis Torres Saravia, will also be called to testify, Burgos said.

The husband of the aforementioned woman and workers from the Legal Advice Office will also be summoned to make their statement in this case.

As recalled, Perú21 reported at the end of December that the aforementioned woman was going to be called to testify, as part of a request made by the congresswoman from Renovación Popular, Norma Yarrow in the last session of the Oversight Commission last December.

At that hearing, Yarrow reported the existence of a notarized letter that Torres Saravia sent to his complainant on December 14, asking him to retract his complaint.

Torres Saravia, in his speech, accepted having sent that document, but said that he did so to defend his honor because, according to him, he did not abuse her.

Alejandro Soto has confirmed to Peru21 that he will come to testify, although I anticipate that he will wash his hands and will not accept any responsibility.

Soto told this media today that he did not order Torres Saravia to be hired and that he does not know Andrea Vidal.

This, despite the fact that Torres was appointed head of the Legal Advisory Office in September 2023, when Soto was president of Congress.

In addition, Torres issued a legal opinion report in which he frees Soto from a complaint of alleged nepotism for hiring the sister of his son’s mother in his office.

TRIP TO CHINA
