Tick, tock, tick, tock… Pass this way, pass that way… It’s Ander Herrera in the candy boxfulfilling the pending dream of playing a Superclassic in that unique stadium, playing and managing the game in the final stretch of the great victory of his Moutha victory that also represents the classification to the Liberators 2026. It is clear that the Spanish enjoy it.
And he certifies that pleasure with words in an interview with the official Boca channel, which he shares with his father.
Ander Herrera played the Superclásico with Boca.
Ander says: “I came mainly for this. I saw it many times from Spain, I imagined it many times. This was something unique. My father was lucky enough to enjoy it as a spectator and I as a player. And we also won it with our people.”
Also refers to his current situation as a substitute in Boca: “I’m a team player, I was my whole career. That’s why I did very well. When it’s my turn to start, I try to keep my position; and when not, I try to add. Great teams are formed with 20-25 players, it’s not possible to do so with 13-14. Putting on this shirt is a gift every day. I’m going to enjoy it until the last day I have the opportunity to do so.”

Herrera continues: “Playing a Superclásico in La Bombonera is unique. I experienced the Manchester derby, the PSG – Marseille which is spicy, the Basque derby in Spain, United – Liverpool which is a great classic, but there is nothing like this. And I have enjoyed them a lot, eh, and I have a very strong connection with the teams I was in, but experiencing this is something that very few of us have the opportunity to do and I feel extremely lucky.”

Ander Herrera rounds off: “The passion, the quality of the players, the stadiums… This is a football with enormous possibilities, which must be improved to be at the level of the big leagues, but days like this are not experienced in Europe. I had to live it and enjoy it. Thanks to Boca, to the people for letting me enjoy this and to my teammates for making me return home happy. The people are unconditional. Sometimes they will curse us because we deserve it, because we have to be demanded, but with very little that we give they give us back so much that It’s something unique.”
