For 15 years, the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) has been celebrated in Uruguay, which this year will take place from November 14 to 20.
It is an initiative that promotes the approach of people to the entrepreneurial world through various activities that range from inspiration talks to training workshops, courses and support actions. In Uruguay, Endeavor leads this movement, with the sponsorship of Grupo Bid and the support of the Uruguay Entrepreneur Network, which year after year works together with organizations from the entrepreneurial ecosystem to reach the entire country.
In turn, within the framework of that week, the National Day of Entrepreneurial Culture is celebrated by law, every third Thursday of November. It is a day to recognize and make visible those who undertake, inspire and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit in people of all ages, and to recognize those who work promoting an increasingly strong, professional and collaborative entrepreneurial ecosystem. Article 7 of Law No. 19,820, encourages State institutions and agencies to disseminate what has been done, and promote actions to promote culture and entrepreneurial activity.
In this sense, in ANDE, as the executing arm of the Executive Branch of the public policy to support entrepreneurs, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, during 2021 it reached more than 33,500 beneficiaries in total. All these programs have their continuity over time, with their new editions during 2022.
And it is within the framework of this Global Entrepreneurial Week, and to celebrate the National Day of Entrepreneurial Culture, that we return with Espacio Emprendedor, in an expanded edition of this entrepreneurship fair that will be held with the support of Parliament, on the esplanade of the Legislative Palace on November 18 and 19.
This year, the number of stands is doubled compared to the previous edition, reaching 100, a gastronomic space with food trucks is added, and it will take place for two days.
