The Regional Health Directorate (Diresa) from Ancash reported that it terminated the contract of a gynecologist and an obstetrician after a 21-year-old woman gave birth without medical supervision in the hallways of the Yungay Hospital.
Likewise, the health entity indicated that it ordered the temporary separation of a nurse and a nursing technician, while the investigations of the case are carried out.
In addition, the Diresa indicated that the hospital immediately intervened after learning of the incident, with the aim of adopting the corresponding measures.
Members of the National Police and representatives of the Public Ministry and the Ombudsman’s Office also arrived at the health center to carry out the pertinent procedures.

For its part, the Huaylas Norte health network requested the Ancash Regional Government the change of the director of the hospital establishment after what happened at the Yungay medical center.
In the midst of the sanctioning process and investigations, Diresa specified that both the mother and her baby are stable. Along these lines, he added that the newborn presents a favorable clinical evolution.
