Ancash: earthquake of 4 degrees was registered this morning in Chimbote, according to the IGP

An earthquake of 4 degrees was registered at 6:03 in the morning in Ancash, announced the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP) on its social networks.

According to the report, the earthquake occurred 67 kilometers west of the city of Chimbote, located in the province of Santa, with a depth of 58 kilometers.

The local authorities of the National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci) have not yet reported personal or material damage from the earthquake that occurred this morning.

In cases of earthquake, Indeci authorities recommend acting calmly and identifying safe areas inside and outside the home, in order to avoid personal injury to be regretted.

In addition, they advise having an emergency backpack containing tools, portable radio, and non-perishable canned staples.
