The Ancap Federation resolved this Friday to start a indefinite strike and without union guards at the aerofuel distribution plants located at the airports of Carrasco in Canelones, and Laguna del Sauce in Punta del Este. The measure will start from 00 hours this Saturday, October 29.
In addition, the refinery and maintenance, administration and logistics sectors of La Teja they will cut off the supply of JET-A1 and AV-100 fuel to the plants of the two airports “guaranteeing the supply of sanitary and essential services”the union said in a statement.
The measure is in rejection of the decision adopted last year by the Ancap Board of Directors to rent the fuel plant at the Laguna del Sauce airport in Punta del Este to the International Airports Consortium that operates that terminal. Fancap demands that the decision be suspended and the issue be reviewed in a tripartite negotiation environment in the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
According to Ancap, The entity loses some US$ 700,000 due to the operation of transportation and supply of fuel for the supply of aircraft at the airport located in Maldonado due to the low operating situation that exists, El País had reported months ago.
From Fancap they understand that the economic losses at the Laguna del Sauce plant are due to poor management by the state company that can be reversed.
“Our union defends that through collective bargaining agreements can be reached that allow for better management where savings are materialized as in previous instances, generating the conditions for the different productive areas to continue in Ancap’s hands. (…) The The task that we understand this Board of Directors has set for itself is to hand over the profits to private capital to the detriment of the people’s sovereignty,” says the Fancap statement.
