The company indicated that after analyzing the offers received, this Thursday it adopted a resolution and awarded Acodike the five-year lease of one of the plants and Riogas the eight-year lease of the other.

In this way, the entity added, “normality is ensured in the packaging of supergas provided by Ancap to all distributors in the market: Ducsa, Acodike, Megal and Riogas”.

Each bidder had to submit a rental proposal for one or both floors and for the two rental periods in the bidding process.

The specifications also required that a purchase price be presented in the event that at the end of the rental period Ancap eventually resolved to sell the plants.

The rents of the two floors will be effective as of March 1, 2023when the rental, packaging, supply and market regulation contracts agreed in 2007 expire.

Until February 28, the supergas bottling plants are leased by Gasur (40% owned by Ancap, 30% by Acodike and 30% by Riogas).

Ancap opened the offers received in the tender on Wednesday, December 7. At the call, Acodike, Megal and Riogas had presented themselves.

The president of the public company, Alejandro Stipanicichad said to The Observer that what was sought with the tender was to get out of an implicit regulation in the contracts that Ancap, Riogas and Acodike had since 2007. These agreements included supply conditions, defined packaging margins, distributor margins and exclusivity terms.

“There were very regulatory restrictions signed by three of the five market players: Acodike, Ancap and Riogas. and they were outside Duchess and Megal”, Stipanicic had pointed out.

The change in the lease contracts for the bottling plants is part of a definition by the Executive Power to introduce changes in the supergas market.

For this reason, he was entrusted with approving the Regulatory Unit for Energy and Water Services (Ursea) a new regulation for the sector that will apply as of next March 1st.
