Ancap approved a tender to find a partner to enter the Portland and Cal business

He Ancap Directory approved this Thursday the bidding document for convene a comprehensive and commercial association to carry out the cement and lime business in whole or in part. The approval for the call, which was by a majority of the Board of Directors, is aimed at reverse the deficit situation and restore the competitiveness of the sector.

Through a statement, the public company reported that in this initial stage the possibility of make a call with three alternatives: a single association with all the plants; an association with the Paysandú plant, and a third with the Minas, Manga and Treinta y Tres plants.

Presidency

Interested parties must present a business plan that must take into account the personnel requirements and the minimum investments committed.

“Today we approved a bidding document to find a partner with whom We intend to rescue an emblematic business for Ancap and for the country that, by mistake or omission, has been fatally neglected”, expressed the Board of Directors of the entity in the statement.

“Saving the cement and lime business requires overcoming the technological obsolescence of our plants, the low mechanical reliability of certain critical production equipment, the consequent low efficiency of labor per ton produced, the fixed and variable costs of production and, fundamentally, the lack of a market to whom to sell what is produced”, he added.
