Anaya accuses AMLO of wanting to control the 2024 election with electoral Plan B

Chronicle | March in defense of the INE summons thousands against the electoral reform

“I am going to focus only on two aspects of López Obrador’s plan. One is the destruction of the INE and the second is a huge trap, which those of Morena have already prepared, to control the election of the four councilors who are going to replace those who are now ending their term, including the president of the INE,” he said. .

Ricardo Anaya explained that the Institute works through boards, made up of five committees in charge of training the citizens who take care of the polls, issuing voter credentials, keeping the electoral roll updated and organizing the elections. This structure, he detailed, is repeated in each federal entity and in each electoral district.

But “Plan B” establishes that a single member perform all these functions, although it is practically impossible, the former senator asserted.

“López Obrador knows that this is impossible. What he wants is a disaster so that his government can take control of the elections as it was before; as it was in the days when (Manuel) Bartlett, his friend, was in charge of the elections when ‘the system fell,’” he affirmed.

He added that Morena’s proposal that the INE directors be chosen by lottery is a trap, since the five candidates for that position who could participate in the tombola would be chosen by the party of the president of Mexico.
