Analyst Vega: Position of the States will be crucial in the face of US actions.

Political analyst Víctor Vegas highlighted the importance of the upcoming IV Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) – European Union that will meet in Colombia this November 9 and 10 to discuss issues of regional integration, sustainable development and cooperation between the member states.

He highlighted that the central issue is the position of the Member States regarding the actions of the United States (US) in the Caribbean, where “the electoral processes that are going to be crucial will also influence. If 2025 was complicated in electoral and political terms, 2026 will be no exception.

Vegas expressed that in this space “a solid position of the South American and Caribbean nations must be maintained” in the face of the position of the president of the United States, who “seeks to divide, intensify and punish the people with the aggressive and perverse mechanism of tariffs.”

He stated that the participants of this Summit will have the opportunity to demonstrate “their solid position in the fact that they are indifferent to what the US may think” with all the situations that are occurring in their country at this time regarding economic policies and voters.
