Promote policies of gender equality in companies and institutions will allow the growth of companies at all levels, since in this way equal opportunities in work environments are guaranteed. In this context, and within the framework of the Day of the Fight against Violence against WomenSAWAY, a consulting company that promotes gender equality and financial inclusion in companies, held the forum on-line “Empowered Women. Companies that attract talent”.
This event was hosted by Gloria Acostafounding director of SAWAY and had the participation of Susana Eléspururenowned executive and independent director of companies and Tulio Obregon, general manager of Estudio Obregón Sevillano. The forum was held with the purpose of addressing the issue of female empowerment in companies and institutions and the actions that should be promoted to promote their growth in such a way that it serves to break economic violence against women.
During the webinaran Insight Hunting SEO study was presented, prepared by the Impulse Data Intelligence Unit for SAWAY, in which it was identified that between 2017 and 2021 the number of people who carried out searches increased by 456% on-line monthly on issues related to gender equality. According to study projections, a growth of around 58.5% is expected for this year compared to the previous year in searches on the same topic.

Thanks to the study, it was also possible to identify that more than 50% of people who seek these issues related to gender equality consulting have decision-making positions in the company. 28.90% are human resources personnel, 22.10% are managers, 19.50% are startups or have a business and 11.10% have their own traditional business such as restaurants or shops.
So far in 2022, the average number of people who carry out monthly searches on various topics of gender equity and equal pay has increased. Searches on complaints of sexual harassment in companies increased by 26% compared to 2021, and searches related to reporting gender discrimination increased by 18%.
The study also showed that 89% of people looking for jobs with gender equality are between 18 and 40 years old, and 72% are women and 28% are men. The highest percentage of searches occurs in Lima with 69.1%, followed by Arequipa with 10.9%, Trujillo with 6.4% and Ica with 2.1%.
“The top management of the companies must understand how important it is to work in the organizational culture in favor of gender equality because the perception that is given to the outside becomes a benefit that generates revenues, which allows them to hire the company for above others. It is important to create a safe space for women where they feel protected and have the mechanisms to report in the event of a case of violence or discrimination.“, he pointed Tulio Obregon.
For his part, Susana Eléspuru He commented that today the path that companies must follow is that of equality in both opportunities and salary, and this must be promoted by all those leaders in order to be real change managers. “Companies will limit their ability to have talent if they do not offer equality issues, since more and more people demand that companies comply with gender equality policies”, he added.
