In Gómez’s opinion, these members of political parties, if only they bring the dissidence of their own group to sign or support them, they already win the space because only the three that get the most support occupy the only three positions that by free application and the regulation of the law allows to compete.
The former Attorney General of the Nation and pre-candidate for deputy for the free candidacy, Ana Matilde Gómez, referred to the nominations for presidential pre-candidates for the free candidacy of the PRD deputy Zulay Rodríguez and the ex-president Ricardo Martinelli, specifying that this fact is unfair because the rule that allows this becomes an abuse of the right of members of political parties.
“Free application is the only mechanism that the Republic of Panama has so that a citizen who is not registered in a political party can participate in public affairs through a position of popular election,” he remarked.
In Gómez’s opinion, these members of political parties, if only they bring the dissidence of their own group to sign or support them, they already win the space because only the three that get the most support occupy the only three positions that by free application and the regulation of the law allows to compete, “and there are already two”.
The former attorney stated that, although this rule is legal, it is immoral and unfair.
