Ana Diburcio, who visited José Jerí 24 times in a three-month period between October and December 2022, reported that the visits were due to the fact that she worked as a trusted person of the then congressman and received a monthly cash salary for it.
The money, according to the interview he gave to Panorama, came from Jerí’s own salary.

“Everyone can have an opinion, everyone can say, that Jeri can get money from the state, she can get money from the government, no. I never had a direct payroll payment, it was from his own salary, I suppose that money was always in cash,” he said.
He specified that the then parliamentarian paid him a minimum salary and that his duties were coordination. “I received a minimum wage, it wasn’t wow either. I was an intern. I was there to support topics, things, meetings, appointments, it wasn’t that I didn’t get the money either because I was a shadow there,” he commented.
He added: “I never had a direct contract, I never worked for the state, I was never on the payroll, it was a direct personal job with him with his team in his office. He never took money from the state for things like that, it was always with his salary from him.”
