AN will work on the Law on Migrants and Human Trafficking in defense of their rights

AN trabajará en Ley de Migrantes y Trata de Personas en defensa de sus derechos

The Permanent Commission on Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Integration of the National Assembly (AN) will work during the legislative period of this year on the Draft Law on Migrants and Trafficking in Persons, to fully attend to and protect compatriots residing in other countries and who have been victims of abuse.

According to a press release from the national parliament, it was learned that the aforementioned Commission was chaired by Deputy Timoteo Zambrano and Deputy Roy Daza as second vice president.

Similarly, the appointment of José Albornoz as the new secretary of the parliamentary body for the 2023 legislative year was unanimously approved, complying with the provisions of article 40 and 43 of the Internal Regulations and Debates of the AN (Ridan).

During the day, the commission approved the report of the ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the kingdom of Spain, Coromoto Godoy, who offered details of the strategic objectives that she will carry out in that nation during 2023.

The meeting served to present proposals such as the planning of activities before the 200 years of the Monroe Doctrine and activate the defenses of participatory and leading democracy against fascism.

Security and Defense Commission ratifies the presidents of the subcommittees

During its installation meeting, the Permanent Commission on Security and Defense of the Nation ratified the presidents and other members of the subcommittees that make up the parliamentary instance.

This commission, whose directive is in charge of the deputy Jesús Suárez Chourio in the presidency, the deputy Gloria Castillo in the first vice presidency and the parliamentarian Frang Morales in the second vice presidency, also ratified his secretary María Acevedo Rivas.

Security and Defense Commission

This was stated by parliamentarian Suárez Chourio when reiterating that deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello continues as president of the Subcommittee on the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and Integral Development, as well as Manuel Quevedo in the Subcommittee on Border and Territorial Integrity, and the legislator of the Opposition Bloc, Bernabé Gutiérrez, in the subcommittee on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.

He explained that the Subcommittee on the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and Integral Development will be made up of deputies Yenis Cepeda, Lisset Sabino, Tania Altuvez, and deputies José Millán, Jocsen Alvarado, Oswaldo Andaras, Frang Morales, Fernando Soto Rojas and himself.

The Border and Territorial Integrity Subcommittee was structured by the deputies Enma Díaz, Johana Rosales, Idania Quintero and the parliamentarians Yonder Durán, Carlos Martínez and Juan Romero.

Regarding the subcommittee on Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, Chourio indicated that it will be made up of deputies Gloria Castillo, Maira Rojas, Juliana Ruiz, Melissa Orellana, Elizabeth García, Carlos Granadillo, and Euribes Guevara.

In this sense, Deputy Suárez Chourio praised the teamwork that has taken place within the commission and that is why all the charges were ratified.

Finally, he stressed that the deputy Jorge Luis Chirinos requested to be incorporated into the Security and Defense Commission for this legislative period.
