The Special Commission that Investigates Crimes against Venezuelan Migrants Abroad will present a preliminary report before the plenary session of the National Assembly next Tuesday. This was reported by the president of the parliamentary body, deputy Julio Chávez.
Among the data that the parliamentarian advanced, the 2,761 cases that the special commission has received stand out, registered in Colombia, Chile and the border between Mexico and the United States. He explained that 2,529 were reported by the families of the victims themselves and 232 have been systematized through the virtual office of the special commission.
He announced that they will denounce the crimes before the different multilateral organizations, including the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino) and the Mercosur Parliament (Parlasur).
Chávez stressed that the campaign against Venezuelan migrants, which has generated murders, discrimination, forced disappearances and other human rights violations, must be forcefully denounced before international bodies.
He demanded that the government of Iván Duque respect the human rights of the Venezuelan migrant population, in the same way he asked the Colombian president not to make the murders of Venezuelans that are registered in that country invisible, since they do not process complaints.
