This Thursday, in an ordinary session of the National Assembly (AN), the Congratulatory Agreement Project for the V Games of Alba and greetings to the sports delegations of the 11 countries that have arrived as an expression of the integration, respect and cooperation of the peoples.
“The debate is closed and the Draft Agreement of Congratulation to the realization of the V Games of Alba and Salutation to the sports delegations of the 11 countries that have arrived as an expression of the integration, respect and cooperation of the peoples, please show the customary sign, it is unanimously approved”, said the president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez.
Upon approval, Rodríguez handed over the agreement to a representation of Venezuelan athletes present in the Chamber.
It should be remembered that the Alba 2023 Games will be held in Caracas, Miranda and La Guaira, between April 21 and 29, with the participation of 11 delegations in 33 sports disciplines.
During the ordinary session of the AN, held in the Protocol Chamber of the Federal Legislative Palace, in Caracas, Deputy Arnaldo Sánchez, who was in charge of presenting the Draft Agreement, highlighted the importance and celebration of the entire country for the sports fair.
“These games are historic for Venezuela and the world because they were held with the objective of strengthening not only the sport of our America, but also uniting ties with all our brother countries,” he said.
Great effort from the Government and athletes
Sánchez especially recognized the work carried out by the national government to carry out the Alba Games, “international multi-sports games”.
Likewise, he recognized the efforts of all the athletes, “who with a great spirit of gallantry and integrity, discipline and sacrifice, carry the Venezuelan flag to the top of the international podium.”
From the AN, said the deputy, “we commit ourselves to the countries of Alba that our Parliament commits itself once again to promoting the unity of the peoples of our America and may God bless Venezuelan sports and athletes.”
In the V Sports Games of Alba 2023, around 3,500 athletes from 11 countries will participate: Venezuela, Cuba, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Saint Lucia, as well as a Russian representation.
More than 2,400 athletes and 926 national and international technical officials will participate in the international event.
