An orange and a yellow alert apply for storms and heavy rain

After a week of heat wave in the country, this Monday began with orange and yellow alerts throughout the national territory for strong storms and heavy rains, informed the National Institute of Meteorology (Inumet). The body predicts “Intense rains in short periods, occasional hail fall, intense electrical activity and very strong gusts of wind”.

The orange alert began at 6:30 a.m. and affects the south, southeast, center and west of the country. The departments affected are: Montevideo, Canelones, San José, Maldonado, Lavalleja, Florida, Durazno, Río Negro, Paysandú, west of Rocha, Treinta y Tres, Cerro Largo and Tacuarembó, north of Soriano and south of Salto.

On the other hand, there are two simultaneous yellow alerts surrounding the orange alert area, with the same start time. On one side are Colonia and southern Soriano, and on the other they are Artigas, Rivera, north of Salto and Tacuarembó, and east of Cerro Largo, Treinta y Tres and Rocha.

Today are expected minimum temperatures of 22°C and maximum of 26°C in Montevideo, with rain throughout the day. In the north, temperatures of between 34 and 36°C, and in the west maximum 30°C, too with precipitation all day.

rock: April 19, Aguas Dulces, Arachania, Barra de Valizas, Barrio Torres, Cabo Polonio, Castillos, La Paloma, La Pedrera, Lascano, Palmares de Castillos, Puente Valizas, Puerto de los Botes, Rocha and Velazquez.

Jump: Albisu, Campo de Todos, Cerro de Vera, Colonia 18 de Julio, Colonia Itapebí, Garibaldi, Itapebí, Puntas de Valentín, Salto, San Antonio and Termas del Daymán.

Saint Joseph: Capurro, Ciudad del Plata, Juan Soler, Kiyú-Ordeig, Libertad, Mal Abrigo, Puntas de Valdez, Rafael Perazza, Rodríguez, San José de Mayo and Villa María.

Tacuarembo: Achar, Arerungua, Cerro Chato, Clara, Cuchilla de Peralta, Curtina, La Hilera, La Pedrera, Paso Bonilla, Paso de los Toros, Piedra Sola, Rincón del Bonete, San Gregorio de Polanco, Sauce de Batoví and Tambores.

Thirty-three: Cerro Chato, Ejido de Treinta y Tres, Isla Patrulla, Maria Albina, Mendizábal, Santa Clara de Olimar, Treinta y Tres, Valentines and Villa Sara.
