A 78-year-old man died on Wednesday afternoon after being involved in a road accident that involved a private car and a truck belonging to the state company. OSA.
The fatal incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. at kilometer 60 of the country’s route 8, within the jurisdiction of the 8th Section of Soca, cannelloni. This was reported by the Canary Islands Police Headquarters.
In a statement, the Highway Police indicated that the old man was driving a car from east to west along with another person. According to what was reported, the deceased, who was behind the wheel of the car, invaded the opposite lane, which ended in a head-on collision with the OSE truck, which was traveling in the opposite direction.
Truck driver tested negative for spirometry
The other person in the smaller vehicle, an 80-year-old woman, was injured. In her case, she was transferred to the Police Hospital, where she is hospitalized.
The route was obstructed and the traffic had to be channeled through the shoulder of the same.
The truck driver, a 65-year-old man, on the other hand, was uninjured and his spirometry test was negative.
