The spouses Zaida Luzardo (67) and Ángel Atencio (87) were murdered with multiple shots, according to police reports.
The double homicide occurred on Monday afternoon in the house where Zaida and Ángel lived, located in the La Yaguaza sector, La Cañada de Urdaneta municipality, Zulia.
The perpetrator of the murders fired from a motorcycle, killing the spouses in front of their home.
Zaida worked as a seamstress while Ángel repaired sewing machines.

Apparently, the double homicide is a retaliation against Mauricio Luzardo, nephew of those murdered, who is allegedly the ringleader of a gang dedicated to extortion in that sector of La Cañada de Urdaneta.
The revenge was allegedly executed by members of the criminal organization founded by Guillermo Rafael Boscán Bracho (El Yiyi), who resides in the United States, according to information offered at the time by the attorney general, Tarek William Saab. Luzardo and El Yiyi are rivals.
