The tremor was felt at 7:09 p.m. and its epicenter was 42 kilometers southwest of the town of Campo Gallo, 152 km northeast of the provincial capital, and 202 km east of the city of San Miguel de Tucumán.
The earthquake had a intensity III on the Mercalli scale modified, and was perceived by people in a situation of rest in the cities of Santiago del Estero, San Miguel de Tucumán, San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca and La Rioja.
The tremor was also registered in the sensors of the Seismological Center of the University of Santiago de Chile.
