AN Communes Development Commission reviews reform of Popular Power laws

The president of the Commune Development Commission of the National Assembly (AN), Blanca Eekhout, held a meeting with the Communal Power, to review the reform of all the laws that are part of the People’s Power law system.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, @eekhout_blanca, he indicated: «Today in the Commission of Communes #AN we receive and listen to the heroic experience of the @UnionComunera. Example of resistance and construction of our Bolivarian socialism. Only in unity, organization and in the full exercise of power of the people, we will win. @NicolasMaduro”.

Likewise, the reform of four laws has already been approved in the first discussion: Law of Community Councils, Law of Social Comptrollership, Law of Communes and Law of People’s Power. “One of the first laws was approved in 2006 by the National Assembly (AN), later, in 2009, a transformation was carried out to guarantee true, participatory and leading democracy,” emphasized Eekhout.

70% of the country is in communes, with 3,641 of them and more than 49,000 communal councils, the law seeks to develop and strengthen Popular Power, in accordance with the principles enshrined in the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
