AN Commission will summon the mayor of Guatire for land eviction

The Special Commission Anti-fascist of the National Assembly (AN) visited this Friday the Villa Zamora 2021 subdivision located in Guatire, Miranda state, to verify the alleged ecocide and land dispossession of peasants, for which he determined to summon the mayor of the jurisdiction, Razier Rodríguez.

The complaint was filed by deputy Diosdado Cabello, who presented the proposal in Thursday’s session and exposed the case of the inhabitants of the area, who on April 12 were allegedly deceived and evicted from their land by the mayor and the police of that municipality, action in which a company interested in keeping the land to install a karting track is involved.

From Guatire, the president of the Special Commission, deputy Ricardo Molina, affirmed that a schedule of appearances by organizations and institutions involved in the event, including those affected, will begin in the coming days to resolve the situation.

“We are also going to summon the mayor of Guatire so that he can explain his vision and find out why they attacked these families,” he said, quoted in a press release.

According to Molina, the commission that he chairs intends to stop the fascist actions against the farming families that reside in the Villa Zamora 2021 subdivision.

“After these families had five years with their agrarian charter, they are attacked, for this reason we will also summon the owners of this Guatire Textil company and have them appear before this Commission. They destroyed everything in their path, with the crops of these people, with their homes, with the trees and with their lives”, he added.

The special commission is chaired by Molina, while deputy Azucena Jaspe was appointed as the first vice-presidency and Óscar Ronderos as the second vice-presidency.

It is also made up of deputies Rosa León, Pedro Infante, Blanca Eekhout and Irimar Malavé, for the Bloc of the Homeland. Juan Carlos Alvarado and Nixon Maniglia were appointed by the opposition.
