AN Commission evaluated proposals from political parties

The Special Commission for the Review of Electoral Laws evaluated this Thursday the proposals presented by political parties and organizations throughout the country to define the dates, processes and scenarios of the 2025 elections.

This was reported by the Legislative Branch through its networks, in which it indicated that at the meeting, held in the protocol chamber, the coordinators of each table presented the proposals collected that range “from the mechanisms that should govern the upcoming processes, as well as respect for peace, and the form for nominations for popularly elected positions,” according to a press release from the AN.

This is the second meeting held by the special commission for the review of electoral laws in order to jointly prepare the electoral schedule for the elections of governors, mayors, municipal councils, legislative councils and the National Assembly scheduled for the year 2025, and present it before the National Electoral Council (CNE).

For these meetings, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, summoned all organizations and political parties that have or do not have representation before the National Assembly, with special emphasis on the four opposition governors.

The first discussion took place on Tuesday, January 14, with a broad representation of political parties. The activity was headed by Rodríguez, who highlighted the extensive participation of political organizations in this dialogue table, which seeks to comply with what is established in the current legal system on the call for elections.

“We have invited the political parties with representation in the National Electoral Council (CNE) and we have also invited the governors of states that were elected with opposition party cards. It has been a very busy, almost complete, attendance of all the parties from the broad spectrum that make up the electoral panorama of Venezuela,” he emphasized.
