The Biogenesis Bagó company reported this Tuesday that partnered with the FVC company to build a plant in South Korea that will produce up to 100 million annual doses of foot-and-mouth disease vaccines.
The construction and commissioning of the industrial plant -which will be located in Osong, a town located 110 kilometers from Seoul- will require investments of US$ 50 million and will be coordinated by a team of Argentine professionals specially sent to Korea.
The strategic alliance will allow South Korea to supply its market with vaccines against foot-and-mouth disease, generating more accessible solutions for local livestock producers and helping to protect the sanitary status of the Asian country.

“The agreement reinforces the position of Biogenesis Bagó as an important player in animal health at a global level and also confirms its status as a scientific benchmark with full capabilities to make significant contributions in the fight against foot-and-mouth disease,” said Esteban Turic, CEO of the company. company.
In addition, Turic recalled that “foot-and-mouth disease is a disease with a high economic impact because it negatively affects production, limits exports and therefore threatens food security.”

After carrying out a similar project in China, in July 2021 it signed an agreement with the Saudi company MAS for the construction of a foot-and-mouth disease vaccine plant in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which hopes to become a regional supplier of foot-and-mouth disease vaccine and other vaccines.
