Seven people died, including a three-year-old boy and his mother, both Argentines, and twenty were injured this morning when a bus carrying several foreigners fell on a route in Brazilreported the Federal Highway Police (PRF).

The accident occurred around 01:50 when the bus that was traveling from the city of Florianópolis (Santa Catarina) to Foz de Iguazú (Paraná) cfell into a ravine on the side of the road due to unknown causes, indicated the PRF to local media.

Among the seven deceased there is a three-year-old boy and his mother, both of Argentine nationality, another woman and four men, according to police sources.reported the AFP news agency.

Among the 54 passengers, there were also Paraguayans, French and Germans, according to the fire chief of the Irati municipality of Paraná, Carla Spak.

The sinister left a balance of 22 people injured who were transferred to nearby health centers in the central region of Paraná.

Images released by the police show the bus overturned on the side of the BR-277 routewhich made rescue efforts difficult.

On Monday, another bus accident carrying a youth soccer team left four people dead, including three teenagers between the ages of 14 and 17, and 29 injured in Minas Gerais, in the southeast of the country.
