AN approves the Budget Law for Fiscal Year 2023

This Thursday the National Assembly (AN) approved by qualified majority the Budget Bill for Fiscal Year 2023, presented this Wednesday by the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.

The Budget Law for 2023 contemplates a 77.1% for social investmentbeing the total budgeted 170 billion 703 million 832 thousand 051 bolivars whose origins derive 88% from current income (149,824 million bolivars) and 12% (20,880 million bolivars) from public credit operations, said Vice President Rodríguez when presenting the project.

Similarly, in the session the Special Law on Annual Indebtedness for the 2023 Economic and Financial Year was approved, which sets the maximum amount of debt that the Republic can incur through public credit operations.

Both legal texts will be sent to the National Executive for the purposes of their promulgation, in accordance with the provisions of article 213 of the Constitution of Venezuela.

AN approves BCV Budget

Also this Thursday, the plenary approved in ordinary session the report presented by the Permanent Commission of Economy, Finance and National Development, through which it forwards the Budget Project for Operating Income and Expenses of the Central Bank of Venezuela, corresponding to Fiscal Year 2023.

In this way, the Budget of Income and Operating Expenses of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) for Fiscal Year 2023 was approved, for 6,477 million bolivars, which will be used for the growth and strengthening of the organization.

The BCV budget was presented by Deputy Michel Duque, member of the Permanent Commission for the Economy, Finance and National Development, who highlighted the progress that the country’s main banking and financial entity has had with the economic recovery process.

In the same way, the National Executive was authorized the Additional Credit to the budget of Expenditures of the Organizations that organize Commitments and Payments of the National Public Administration, for an amount of 43,533,818,098.16 Bolivars, according to the report presented by the Permanent Commission of Economy , Finance and National Development.

In the first point of the session this Thursday, the plenary approved the report presented by President Nicolás Maduro to designate the citizen Mary Eglys Flores Mora as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Venezuela to the Portuguese Republic.

With this Thursday’s session, the ordinary cycle of sessions of the National Assembly was closed.
