The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, said that in recent days he spoke with the president of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Viacheslav Volodin, who expressed his support for Venezuela in the midst of the military deployment that the US maintains in the Caribbean
The National Assembly (AN) approved this Tuesday, November 11, the Law of the Command for the Comprehensive Defense of the Nation. The regulations, with a total of 22 articles, two transitional provisions and one final provision, obtained a qualified majority of votes. The document was sent to Nicolás Maduro for promulgation. However, to date, the population is unaware of the content, since the law document has not been published.
“We are approving a fundamental law that establishes a new way of dealing with deployment, compliance with orders, the movement of troops and, above all, the conjunction between the people and the Armed Forces,” said the president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez, during the ordinary session this Tuesday, November 11.
This law provides for defending the nation from internal and external threats.
The first transitional provision establishes that the Ministry of Defense will be the body that will prepare the manuals, plans and orders to implement the provisions of the law.
Deputy Giuseppe Alessandrello was in charge of presenting the norm last October, and explained that it seeks to guarantee the defense of independence, freedom, territorial integrity, peace, democracy and defense “in the face of internal or external threats.”
At that time, the deputy explained that this regulation arose after years of analysis and stated that “it is the intelligent proposal to the threats and aggressions” against the country and said that it will allow the integration of military and police power, economic and human capabilities.
This law consists of three titles and 35 articles and was an initiative of Nicolás Maduro and the Ministry of Defense, specifically Vladimir Padrino López.
During the discussion of this law, members of the National Armed Forces (FAN), the Militia and the Management Body for Comprehensive Defense (ODDI) were present in the National Assembly. Some of them were the Vice Minister of Defense Planning and Development, M/G Henry Rodríguez; the legal consultant of the Ministry of Defense, G/D Adolfo Castillo; and the legal advisor of the Bolivarian Aviation, G/D Rafael Blanco, among other officials.

The deputies of the State Duma expressed their support for Venezuela in the defense of its sovereignty andThey urged the United States to refrain from aggravating the situation and seek solutions to the problems of transnational organized crime and drug trafficking through cooperation and dialogue.
“In complex moments and difficult times is when true friends are tested and Russia is a true friend of the people of Venezuela,” Jorge Rodríguez emphasized.
