The National Investigation Unit against Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants of the National Police together with the mayor of Pichincha, Washington Casamen, the Prosecutor’s Office and local authorities, carried out the Clandestine operation I.

It happened in the north of Quito
In a Department located in the La Carolina park sector, north of Quito, «there would be people who under threats and false promises forced to women to arrange sexual encounters against their will in exchange for payments that ranged between 50, 60 and 70 dollars an hour,” says a statement from the Ministry of Government.
It is presumed that there would be adolescent victims of this alleged crime of sexual exploitation.
They were promoted on the internet
This service was offered through a web page, and the majority of citizens who offered the service were foreigners. During the search they found condoms, lubricants, record books of the alleged victims, lingerie, feminine articles and a plant “presumably of a controlled substance”.
Captain David Armendáriz reported that three months ago the sexual activities in the building, and as evidence there are images from the security cameras, where the entry of men was evidenced.
Armendáriz pointed out that an Ecuadorian citizen lived in the apartment with his sentimental partner of Venezuelan nationality and at the time of the raid there were three people who hired the sex service and four women. “The investigations with the Prosecutor’s Office will determine if the couple carried out some type of vulnerability against the victims.”
“We ask citizens that when they have information about these clandestine activities, they report it through 911 or 1800 CRIME to carry out the respective verifications and rescue of the victims,” added Armendáriz. (AVV)
