EFE.- An 11-year-old boy died this Sunday after being attacked with a sharp object on the football pitch in Mocejón (Toledo), where the Civil Guard has deployed a large force to locate the murderer.

Civil Guard sources have clarified that the minor was 11 years old and not 10, as had been initially reported.

The same sources have explained that the search for the author of the stabbing, with a dozen patrols from the Judicial Police Unit and the Information Group of the Toledo Command, has incorporated a helicopter.

The President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-Page, and the Government delegate in the region, Milagros Tolón, have expressed their support for the child’s family.

García-Page, “shocked by the events”

On his profile on social media X, García-Page expressed his “shocked attitude towards the events that occurred in Mocejón this morning.”

“I express my condolences and my sympathy to the family of the minor and also the hope that the perpetrator of the crime is found soon and brought to justice as soon as possible,” said the regional president, for whom “these situations are unacceptable and must result in a just punishment.”

The Government delegate also sent her condolences through X to the family and friends of the little boy, as well as to the people of Mocejón.

“It is with great sadness that I have received the news of the murder of a minor,” said Tolón, who recalled that the Civil Guard has deployed “a wide range of forces to arrest the perpetrator.”

The incident took place at around 10:00 a.m. on the football field in the aforementioned town.
